Resist the temptation to list and market the property before it is entirely ready. Often agents are guilty of this too. This is a huge mistake. The first people to see your property will be your best prospects. Do not lose the opportunity to wow them at the first visit!
Minor Improvements for Major Impact
Most sellers already know the importance of cleaning, organizing and clutter removal, so I won´t repeat what you´ve probably seen a hundred times. Below are some minor improvements that I´ve found really update and add value to an older home.
Exception- If your home requires major remodelling do not do anything until you talk to me. Part of my service is to advice you on what specific improvements are most advantageous for your property. Even if you are months away from listing, I will help you prepare your home for the market.
Remove old fashioned curtains, drapes and mini blinds.
Bare windows are preferable.
A small lamp on an otherwise dark corner of the kitchen or bath counter adds elegance and warmth.
Most rooms will benefit from removing one piece of furniture.
