10. The greenbelts and walking trails.  Winding throughout the town and parks are miles of gravel paths that vary from an easy stroll to a rugged work-out.

 9. The cleanliness.  I challenge you to find a gum wrapper on Lakeway ground.

 8. Texas stone.  A popular building material in the 1970’s and 1980’s and still used today. Many homes in Lakeway are clad with this timeless, white limestone exterior.

 7. The peacefulness.  Serious crime is almost unheard of. The Lakeway police are ready for any emergency- but will also take the time to drive by your home while you´re on vacation. The speed limit of 30 mph is strictly enforced, though, so relax and slow down.

 6. The deer.  OK, some say they’re a nuisance and eat all your plants. I think they’re charming.   5. The trees!  Whatever land is not developed is covered with trees. There are thousands of acres of conservation land that provide a gorgeous green backdrop.

 

 

4. The golf.  Undulating throughout the residential neighborhoods are three golf courses. Live Oak (18 holes), Yaupon (18 holes) and The Hills (36 holes, private). Nearby are Flintrock Falls (36 holes, private), and Falconhead (18 holes, public). Not bad for a city of 12,000 residents!

 

3. The hills.  Texas Hill Country starts right here. Picture perfect rolling green hills spread out to the horizon from many vantage points. In the spring legendary blankets of wildflowers go for miles.

2. Lake Travis.  Aqua Marine waters surrounded by limestone cliffs and lush green forest. Even a peek of the lake is awe inspiring. Surprise- the water easily reaches 80 degrees in the summer.
