Recreation Off The Lake
You would be hard pressed to find a place that rivals South Lake Travis in terms of glorious scenery, outdoor recreation, sports and activities for all ages.
Boating, windsurfing, camping, fishing, hiking, biking, horseback riding, picnicking, and swimming can all be enjoyed at many of the Lake Travis area parks.
Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy an abundance of activities off the lake too. The natural areas of Travis County offer unlimited canyons, rivers, lakes, hills and trails to explore. How about a refreshing dip in a spring-fed swimming hole? Or an exhilarating flight across canyons on a zip-line?
Community festivals celebrate everything from Octoberfest to Arts and Crafts and are a great way to experience local culture. In addition, the Lake Travis area truly is a music lover’s paradise. Small and large venues abound staging performances from local and national talent on a nightly basis. Take a short drive to downtown Austin and experience the “Live Music Capitol of the World” on famous 6th Street.
There are dozens of active groups and clubs in the Lake Travis area including Wine Appreciation Clubs, a Newcomers Club, Networking groups, moms and tots playgroups, and many civic clubs and volunteering opportunities. The Lakeway Activity Center offers a myriad of classes and events including watercolor painting, yoga, bridge, a theatre group, ballroom dance, kinderdance, a men's breakfast club, a womens club, a theatre group, and much more. As a new resident you will have many ways to meet others, get involved and get to know your community.
World of Tennis
Established in 1973, the World of Tennis Sports Complex is among the finest in the Southwest. The facility’s 16 outdoor tennis courts include a striking stadium court that has hosted such notables as
Andre Agassi, Chris Evert, Billie Jean King, and Andy Roddick. Two indoor climate-controlled courts ensure year-round play. The USPTA-certified staff of tennis professionals offer private lessons, camps, clinics, and league play for all. The unique tennis raquet shaped pool is great for a cooling dip.
Lakeway Swim Center and Skate Park
Located in the center of the residential community the Swim Center is open year-round.
They offer swim lessons, water aerobics, lap swimming, youth swim team, high school
swim team, and events and parties. There is a children’s pool, large slides including the popular "Frog Slide", lap pool, climbing wall, picnic tables, concession area, and large shade umbrellas. Next door is the Skateboard Park, 9000 sq.ft. of bowl and street elements.

Live Oak Golf Course at Lakeway (18 holes, private)

The Live Oak Course derives its name from the Live Oak trees that frame its meandering fairways and shade its tees and ample greens. Open since 1965, a hallmark Lakeway golf. Players often feel as though they are playing a secret course hidden in the hills, away from the demands of everyday life.
The Hills Course (36 holes, private)
Architect: Jack Nicklaus
Home to the PGA Champions Tour 'Kinko's Classic' won by Hale Irwin in 2003, this Jack Nicklaus Signature course opened in 1981 and has held a high ranking among Texas' best courses year after year. The famous Waterfall hole #7 has been voted "Most beautiful hole in Texas." Gently rolling greens.

This gem is the area's first collaborative design by Jack Nicklaus and Jack "Jackie" Nicklaus, II. Opened in 2002, Flintrock Falls is quickly becoming recognized as one of Jack and Jackie's classic efforts. The signature Waterfall hole #11 is already giving The Hills hole #7 a run for its money as most beautiful hole in the State. Well bunkered, undulating greens offer scenic vista's of the Texas hill country and nearby Lake Travis.
Falconhead Golf Course (18 holes, public)

The newest golf course in the surrounding area, a delight for golfers of all expertise. Knobby oaks, rolling hills, creeks and ponds add variety and beauty to this PGA designed and managed course.
